Coursera, the e-learning platform founded by Stanford grads in 2012, is discounting its annual subscription, Coursera Plus, by $100 now through January 10. It’s the first time we’ve seen the service discounted so deeply.
Originally $399, an annual Coursera Plus membership gives members access to over 3,000 courses — over 90% of the site’s catalog, according to the company. You can learn more about the subscription here, but the gist is this: if you’re planning on taking multiple courses — and paying the fee for features such as graded homework and certificates of completion that you can add to LinkedIn — then Coursera Plus may be a great deal even without this promotion. It’s also a good option for people considering eligible specializations, and you may even qualify for reimbursement from employers that offer educational reimbursements.
Since the deal covers most of the website, you’ll find some classics included in Coursera Plus: courses from prestigious universities such as Princeton, Yale, Columbia, UPenn, and Johns Hopkins, as well as top companies such as Google and Goldman Sachs. You’ll be able to take Yale’s most popular course on how to be happy, as well as complete specializations and professional certificates in everything from data science and business to personal development.
You can browse the courses covered by the Coursera Plus membership here, and, once you’re a member, you’ll see a “Coursera Plus” badge on all the classes included in your subscription.
If your 2021 goals include making a career change or pursuing a new hobby from the comfort of your couch, this may be one of the best holiday deals you’ll find.
