Kohl’s Black Friday deals include $15 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 you spend, on top of deals on Nest thermostats, Lego sets, and more

Black Friday arrives November 27. Kohl’s will certainly have some great deals on a variety of products.
In past years, Kohl’s competed with tech-centric retailers with its deals on vacuums, kitchenware, video games, smart speakers, and more.
November 22 to 27, you can earn $15 of Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent, to use toward future purchases at Kohl’s.

In the past few years, we’ve seen more stores stay open on Thanksgiving to start Black Friday deals early. This year, the pandemic is changing many aspects of the annual shopping bonanza. Kohl’s is one of the retailers that will stay closed on Thursday, November 26. Stores reopen at 5:00 a.m. on Black Friday, November 27.

However, Kohl’s will start its Black Friday deals earlier in the week. Many of the biggest deals begin on November 22. It’s also starting to offer deals well before the Thanksgiving holiday, along with a promo code SHOP20, which will give you an extra 20% off through November 10.

A more compact yet still powerful KitchenAid mixer, the Classic Plus has a smaller bowl and lower wattage than the brand’s Artisan series. There are still three attachments, including a dough hook, that will help you get through all your holiday baking. It’s about $60 cheaper than other retailers right now.

The Instant Pot Duo Nova has several straight-forward buttons that make the versatile appliance also fairly approachable. There are soup, steam, and slow-cook options that are great ways to get started. The six-quart size is on sale for $60, a great price for a model with so many cooking options.

Smart speakers that have displays are usually quite a bit more expensive than mini, screenless versions, like the Dot. The Amazon Echo Show 8’s usual price is around $130, but it’s now on sale for $65. That’s just a bit pricier than the $40 Echo Dot, making it a great deal if you’ve been hunting for a smart speaker with a screen.

The Shark Apex DuoClean comes with quite a few attachments, including a pet tool. If you have a lot of fur, you’ll appreciate the self-cleaning brushroll, so you won’t spend as much time detangling. You can also remove the canister, so it’s easier to get under couches and low tables. The price is usually about $330, but it’s on sale for $250.

When it comes to simplicity, the Keurig K-Select Single-Serve coffee maker is definitely appealing. It’s both easy to use and quick to brew a single cup of coffee. It typically sells for $80, but Kohl’s has it priced for $15 less right now.

The ever-popular Nest thermostat can help you lower your energy bills, though its up-front cost is often a bit of a sticker shock. This Kohl’s deal lowers it from $250 to $200. It’s compatible with a wide range of heating and cooling systems, though you’ll definitely want to make sure it works with your setup before you buy.

Though Keurigs are known for only brewing a single cup of coffee at a time, the K-Supreme can make a second cup right away, with no need to wait for it to reheat. Its 66-ounce reservoir is bigger than less expensive models, so you’ll have to refill it less often. For Black Friday, Kohl’s is selling the K-Supreme for $100, about $40 its usual price.

Proof that classics never go out of style, the Melissa & Doug activity rug comes with all the accessories you’d expect, from wooden signs to cars to train tracks. The rug measures 39.5 by 36.5 inches. Normally priced at about $90, its Black Friday price is $50.

Separate pressure cookers and air fryers take up a lot of counter or cupboard space. The Instant Pot Duo Crisp combines them both into a single appliance. It has an 8-quart capacity for pressure cooking and six quarts for air frying. Kohl’s is reducing its price by about $50, to $130 for Black Friday.

Lego is a perennial favorite holiday gift, and it will especially be big this year, as it makes for a great quarantine activity. Kohl’s will offer 30% a variety of Lego sets, starting on November 22.

Black Friday 2020 is November 27 and Cyber Monday is November 30, but many retailers already started their sales. Kohl’s usually begins its Black Friday deals the week of Thanksgiving.

If clothes and home goods are what mainly come to mind when you think of Kohl’s, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to hear what else the retailer usually offers for Black Friday. Last year, it had great deals on smart speakers, fitness trackers, kitchen appliances, and even an Xbox bundle. This year, expect to find similar deals on vacuums, cookware, pajamas, air fryers, and more.

Last year, some of the best deals at Kohl’s included $100 off the Xbox One S 1TB Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Gaming Console Bundle, $200 off the iRobot Roomba 677 Wi-Fi Connected Robot Vacuum, $70 off the Beats Studio Wireless Headphones, and $65 off the Instant Pot Duo Nova 7-in-1 6-Quart.

Kohl’s Rewards is a relatively new program that replaces Yes2You Rewards. The new, free program gives members 5% Kohl’s Cash every day (not just during promotional events) on all purchases, as well as additional rewards, like a birthday gift.

Any Kohl’s Cash received through the rewards program will be available on the first day of the following month and must be used within 30 days. So, if you earn a lot on Black Friday, it should be available on December 1. If you think you’ll be shopping at Kohl’s again before Christmas, it might be worthwhile to take advantage of the extra Kohl’s Cash savings.

Even if you’re not a Kohl’s Rewards member, you’ll still get $10 of Kohl’s Cash for every $50 you spend during promotional periods. For Black Friday, the amount increases to $15 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent between November 22 to 27. You can then use that Kohl’s Cash like a coupon on future purchases.

If you make purchases in-store, you’ll receive a coupon for your Kohl’s Cash. If you buy online, Kohl’s will send an email with your Kohl’s Cash. You’ll have to pay attention to expiration dates, because Kohl’s Cash doesn’t last forever.

Keep in mind that there’s a limit to how much Kohl’s Cash you can earn: $1,500 on a single purchase.

Can I order online and pick up in a Kohl’s store?

Kohl’s will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but plans to open its stores at 5:00 a.m. on Black Friday. The retailer’s CEO has touted the chain stores’ massive sizes as useful for social distancing when shopping.

Due to the pandemic, Kohl’s also began offering curbside pickup this year. Many products are available for purchase online, and you can have it delivered to your car two hours later.

Like Best Buy, Kohl’s will likely have lots of tech deals. The retailer also sells cookware, vacuums, clothes, toys, and home goods that will also be on sale, similar to Amazon, Walmart, and Target. Often, these stores will all offer very similar deals on the same products, so if you have your eye on something that goes out of stock, you may still find it at a competitor.

Kohl’s does sometimes win out over other stores’ deals because of Kohl’s Cash, but that’s really only a draw if you plan on shopping there again before the end of 2020.
